As Student Activities Officer for Loughborough Student’s Union, I will be involved in many different societies, covering a wide range of hobbies, sports and activities. Whilst at the post, I intend to provide society committees with all the support necessary to run their societies effectively. This includes being able to:

• Create a relationship between all society chairs and social secs, to promote interaction of the different societies through organised social events.
• Involve the society’s section in other aspects of the union, for example, Rag raids and Action A team projects.
• Promote the presence of societies at AU events and matches to provide Loughborough student sports teams with the support they deserve – e.g. the break-dancing society performing at basketball matches.
• Secure better funding for the society section through sponsorship deals, and working closely with the VP: Finance and Commerce, by presenting a strong case during the allocation of Student Union funds.
• Promote all societies to increase awareness of the section and encourage student involvement.
• Ensure that all societies receive suitable times and space for their activities and meetings.
•  Involve myself actively in each and every society throughout the course of the year.
